XLT and below don’t have an “AWD” function (forums can show you how to add it later), so you’re either RWD or 4WD (which isn’t recommended unless conditions support). If you get a 6’6” bed, it’s that much tougher (but many feel it’s worth it: that extra 11” makes a difference I think) Turning radius sucks, it’s wider, taller: we have 360-deg cameras, couldn’t live without them in my town. Even a 5’7” bed makes for a long vehicle. depending where you live, parking becomes much more difficult. We also have a soft rollup tonneau cover again, not so secure but does the job for us. Mileage is almost as good as the minivan, and I feel like driving on the highway with it loaded is still like trotting on a thoroughbred, vs sprinting on a donkey when the minivan was fully packed! We just got a Softopper for carrying more volume (not as secure as a fibreglass topper but much cheaper and lighter, so works for us so far). Suffice to say, we’re very happy with the F150. And if you want to carry boards/bikes on trips, you’ll still need racks (there’s tons of options there too, a real rabbit hole). All that requires new stuff on a truck: the 5’7” bed is pretty big, but it wasn’t as big as the minivan for total volume. I’ll say it DOES have more space….IF you have a topper/stack things above the bed! Minivans have insane amounts of interior volume (we usually had the 3rd rod removed for even more space) and I’d add a ski box on top, plus it comes with roof racks for boards/attachments. The bed outlet is an extra option, I believe. I have a 22 XLT with 302A and it has the outlet. If you try building a trim level on the Ford website, I think it shows that info.
